Frequently Asked Questions

What is considered a suitable swatch? Can I send material or cotton reels?

We will accept both cotton reels and material as swatches, as well as garments such as fascinators, hats, dresses, belts, dress straps, sashes and even shoes, so long as the garment is made of a fabric material and NOT made from paper, plastic or leather etc. Fabric buttons are also acceptable so long as the button is large enough. The requirement size of a material swatch provided should be at least 5 cm x 5 cm, if sending in a two tone/shot fabric, please specify which colour you wish the shoes or handbag to be dyed to.

I love some of your veils however I require them in a different length than stated – is this something you can make specially for me?

Rainbow Club have a sister company called Joyce Jackson, Joyce Jackson are quite simply the best makers of hand crafted bridal veils in the UK! They are able to make any of our veils in a variety of different lengths, to find your nearest Joyce Jackson stockist please click on ‘Stockists’.

Can you re-dye shoes to the same colour after wearing?

Unfortunately we cannot offer this service. If we were to try and dye to the same colour over the top of your already dyed shoes, it would layer up to be a darker colour. Also if there are watermarks or scuff marks, they will still show through unless you dye to the darkest scuff or part of the watermark. In order to achieve a good result, we only really recommend re-dyeing if you are intending to dye to dark navy, dark brown or black. Remember you cannot re-dye shoes or handbags if they have been spray protected. The chemicals act as a barrier to our water based dyes.

How long does the Colour Studio's dyeing service take?

Our hand-colouring service takes up to 10 working days from receipt of order at Rainbow Club.
