IN OUR SHOES
Eleanor Wears ‘Ceri’
We are back again with another #InOurShoes blog, this time featuring Eleanor and Robert and their gorgeous wedding at Penport Church and Estate in Wales. Their special day saw touches of gold, white and cream with stunning flowing greenery throughout. A real show of class and elegance.
How did Robert pop the big question?
At our favourite holiday destination Rethymnol in Crete, somewhere where we have been 3 times and was our first holiday destination together, it holds many special memories. Robs parents sneakily took the engagement ring out the week before and we met up with them for the final week. Rob was super eager to see the view of the town and seafront from the ancient ruins on the hill at sun set. Rob waited for a clear moment from the crowd and went down on one knee and popped the question (opening the ring box upside down!) I finally stopped crying enough to say yes.
When and where did you get married?
Church wedding at Penpont Church followed by Reception at the Estates House and Dinner in the loft.

Gold touches, White and cream flowers, with flowing greenery – classic, elegant and timeless.
How did you feel when you said yes to the dress?
It was all a bit surreal! My mum picked it out in the shop and I laughed and told her to put it back on the hanger. I thought it was awful! I picked out four dresses and tried them on with no real feeling in them, and then Laura came in with a few after looking at my shape etc. and the one my mum picked was there. Any way reluctantly tried it on, laughed as it went over my head as it was nothing I thought it would be and as soon as it came down it was a perfect fit, up went the zip and down came the tears. Even made my mum cry – it was the one.
How did you choose your shoes?
Through previous bride recommendations and my friends who have got married. I’ve worked in weddings for near on 8 years now and Rainbow club was always a firm favourite with my brides, and the reputation of the shoes for comfort it was an easy choice. With the wedding having a gold theme the champagne lustre was an easy choice, and they are so beautiful and it’s great I can wear them again and re live the memories.
Where did you buy your Rainbow Club shoes from?
After trying them on in outlets I actually bought them online, super quick and easy
What was the most favourite and memorable part of the day?
The whole weekend was amazing, from setting up the venue the day before to the wedding day to the gathering the day after it was a day filled with love and happiness. My favourite moment of the day was the first dance! We’d practiced one evening the week before, with robs parents providing the choreography in the front living room – to then doing it for the first time on the evening. One moment where we were just lost in each other, I didn’t think of anyone around me and we danced to the classic Etta James – At Last. In each other’s arms, spinning around just a moment for the two of us. The most memorable part of the day was appearing at the top of the aisle, seeing everyone around but only concentrating on looking at Rob for the first time and him looking at me. A moment I will never forget. An overwhelming feeling of love!
Do you have any advice for brides to be?
Do what you want! Take the time to find the dress, there is one out there for everyone and when you know you know. Have who you want there, surround yourself with the people who mean the most to you. Eat what you want, don’t please people. Take a time out you top table just the two of you and take it all in together, see all the people who are there to support you and share in your commitment to each other. Be in the moment, because it truly does fly by.
