With autumn in full effect, we’re looking back at Ione’s and Jonathon’s spring wedding to remind us of warmer days and light evenings! If you’re looking to make your big day unique, exciting and fun, look no further than this dinosaur themed wedding!
How did they pop the big question?
We went out for a few drinks to a few different bars and then went to our favourite pub for a burger, when we got home he asked me in the kitchen. It was perfect because I’d always told him I didn’t want it to be a public affair.
When and where did you get married?
We got married at The Three Kings in Falkirk, Scotland on Sunday the 8th April 2018.
Did you have a specific theme or colour scheme?
We wanted to do something different so we picked dinosaurs! Our colours were grey with splashes of pastel colours to brighten it all up. I hand painted hundreds of dinosaurs silver and our table numbers were photos of us in a dinosaur theme park with each dinosaur! Our favours were personalised love heart sweets with a dinosaur bottle opener.
How did you feel when you said yes to the dress?
I felt amazing, I knew it was the dress because my niece told me I looked like a princess in it, and it was on sale too so I saved a fortune! I didn’t want to take it off because it was so beautiful.
How did you choose your shoes?
I originally was dead set on wearing trainers but I went dress shopping with my mother in law for her dress, as soon as I saw my shoes I knew I wasn’t leaving the shop without them. It was love at first sight and I’m so glad I found them! They were so comfortable on the day and I’ve since dyed them black and worn them again!
Where did you buy your Rainbow Club shoes from?
I bought them from Frox of Falkirk
What was the most favourite and memorable part of the day?
There were so many amazing things on the day that it’s hard to choose, we did hand fasting where you tie the knot with two bits of tartan but we dropped it the first time which was hilarious and my youngest nephew was flinging his teddy dinosaur around and talking for him which made the whole ceremony more fun and relaxed. The whole day was just filled with laughter and it was so much fun.
Do you have any advice for brides to be?
The little things that you panic about before don’t matter, something always goes wrong on the day but just laugh through it because at the end of the day you’re marrying your favourite human in the world and that’s the best thing in the world.
