Our latest #InOurShoes bride comes from the lovely Cory, who is a creative director by day and a travel writer by night. She travels the world with her husband, writes about various destinations, and photographs off the beaten path spots. You can read more about her work by visiting You Could Travel.
Cory chose our wonderful Eliza shoes dyed to Royal Blue, and we just love them! What an amazing venue, theme and gorgeous bride- thank you Cory for letting us share your beautiful wedding, all captured perfectly by Charlene Morton Photography.
Cory the bride:
How long before tying the knot:
I’ve known my partner, G for 2 years before he proposed and 3 years before we tied the knot.
How he popped the question:
I’m of course going to say that it was incredibly romantic because it was my story. We were in Japan, my favourite country. We were just outside of Kyoto, for a hike on the beautiful Mount Hiei. The proposal was spontaneous and beautiful, as it happened right on top of the mountain with a beautiful view. Needless to say, I immediately screamed YES then hugged and kissed my future husband. I couldn’t have picked a better country or a better spot!
We got married on the 30th of September in 2016, at the Mansion House in Bristol. A beautiful venue, with a lot of history.
We went for a royal theme. The venue was so majestic, it looked incredibly royal. Hence, we decided to go with this theme, make sure everything fitted around it. We didn’t go over the top but made sure our stationary, the food, and the decoration followed the style.
Favourite part of the day:
The moment we said yes, started wearing the wedding rings and received our wedding certificate. We were officially married and incredibly happy about it. The rest of the evening went by so quickly, we barely had the chance to blink. Of course, the next day we boarded the plane for our honeymoon…that was the second best part.
I wanted my wedding shoes to be royal blue, and I knew it would be difficult to find them in the perfect colour I had in mind. When I came across the Colour Studio and realised I can have my shoes coloured as part of your incredible services, I was sold. I knew I wanted my shoes to have a high heel and be rather simple, so it was easy to find the perfect pair on the Rainbow Club website. Luckily, they were so comfortable and looked so fine, everyone complimented them!
Advice for brides to be:
Don’t panic! Make sure you buy comfortable shoes, as you will walk, stand and dance a lot! Eat a lot of breakfast and carry a protein bar in your purse. When things go crazy, hide away with your maid of honour and eat your cheeky bar. Finally, don’t leave the house without a mini sewing kit and a spare pair of tights. Great, now loosen up and enjoy the best day of your life!
We wish you all the luck in the future Cory and G, thank you for sharing your wedding with us.
