On the 19th May, team Rainbow Club – like most of the nation – will be all-eyes on the much-awaited nuptials of Prince Harry and his glamorous bride, Meghan Markle.
Of course, the dress will be the object of much-debate, but we’ll have a keen eye on what Meghan decides to wear on her feet. After all, we know that a bride’s wedding shoes complete her look on the big day.
So, what’s our money on? Well, she’s a Hollywood actress, she’s got style and she’s not afraid of a little glamour, so read on and join in the speculation over the wedding shoes Meghan might walk down in the aisle in…
When the happy couple made their engagement announcement in November last year, Meghan wore a very elegant pair of D’orsay shoes with a pointed toe and a slender stiletto heel. If she follows suit for the big day, a style like sparkle-dusted Fleur from our latest collection could be a possibility. Or maybe she’ll keep it simple and fuss-free and say ‘I do’ in a sleek, satin D’orsay like Carly?
We’ve also often spied Meghan in a classic pair of courts. Again, not afraid of a high heel, she favors sharply-pointed styles with spiky high heels. It’s a style she’s often worn for royal engagements with Harry, so something like Roux would appeal to Meghan’s understated aesthetic, or if she was looking for a design with added detail to the back, she could go bow-adorned like Lillie.
Occasionally Meghan does stray from her closed shoe formula - especially on the red carpet - and when she does, she goes vertiginous and strappy. As it’s a spring wedding, maybe she will go open-toe? If so, something like the stand-out style of our spring/summer collection, Zarah, would be a perfect choice – it’s modern, pretty and feminine. Alternatively, vintage-inspired peep toes like Nancy would effortlessly lend a romantic air.
We’re relying on Meghan to bring a little Hollywood glamour to this particular royal wedding, so the American actress may decide to delight the crowds with a crystal embellished shoe – she’s no stranger to some sparkle. A show-stopper like Ceri in opulent champagne would offer something really spectacular, as would the dreamy tulle-covered Adrianna…
We’ll have to wait and see which wedding shoes Meghan chooses, but we have no doubt that whatever she steps into for the ceremony will be fit for a princess. Planning your own nuptials? Browse our wedding shoe collection.
