Kathrine Wears ‘Jennifer’

Our latest #InOurShoes blog features Kathrine and Michael who wed in the stunning St. Marys Chapel in Bathgate, Scotland last September. The wedding saw grey and pink balanced throughout with the flowers, dresses and suit ties. As well as guests making their way to the reception on two retro double decker buses!

How did you and your partner meet?

We met in a pub after a football match – I know, very classy!

Tell us all about your proposal – where, when and how?

Friday 24th February 2017, I came home from work as usual to be surprised with a glass of champagne waiting for me when I came through the door, music playing and a note to make my way to the Livingroom. Went through and there he was, on one knee with a ring in his hand and asked me to marry him – of course it was a yes, especially after 7 years. What was more special was I always joked I would love to get engaged under the Eiffel Tower, so he got a photo of the Eiffel Tower framed, and the ring box placed underneath and had big balloons to spell out ‘will you marry me?’. To top the night off, he bought me a stunning dress and booked a limo to take us to our favourite restaurant where our families were waiting to surprise us.

Where and when did you get married?

We got married on Friday 07th September 2018 in St Marys Chapel, Bathgate and then travelled in retro red double decker buses with our guests to the beautiful The Parsonage, Airth for our reception.

Did you have a specific theme or colour scheme?

I chose Grey for the bridesmaid dresses, and included pink into the colour scheme, through the flowers, and the guys ties etc. The colours complimented each other really well!

How did you feel when you said yes to the dress?

I was very excited, but also nervous when I started looking for my dress because I didn’t believe I would know it is ‘the one’. A few dress shops later, I fell in love with my wedding dress! Every fitting I needed to attend, I fell in love with it even more.

How did you choose your shoes?

I looked everywhere for the perfect wedding shoes, with no luck whatsoever. I was at a wedding fayre where someone mentioned Rainbow Club and let me see some of the shoes they had on show, and I instantly loved the idea of the clip for the back of the shoes. They seemed to be the shoe I was looking for, ivory satin with a touch or sparkle!

Where did you buy your Rainbow Club shoes from?

I bought my shoes online and they came within days of ordering. I was so glad I was made aware of Rainbow Club shoes as they were very comfortable, the perfect wedding shoe!

What was your most favourite and memorable part of the day?

It is so hard to pick a favourite part of the day as it was all wonderful, but one highlight was walking in the chapel doors and seeing all our friends and family there for us both and seeing Michael at the end of the aisle with emotions running high. Although, I probably didn’t see too much from the tears myself.

Do you have any advice for brides to be?

Enjoy every minute of the build up to the big day and try not worry too much about all the little things as on the day, you will be surrounded by all your nearest and dearest including your husband, that’s all you need! Also, at your dinner, sit back and look around to see everyone smiling and laughing away – they are there celebrating for you.
